What's in it?
Four things. Non-nano zinc oxide, beeswax, jojoba oil, and vitamin E. That's the whole list. No fragrance, no fillers, nothing you can't pronounce.
Is it sunscreen?
Seaker isn't a lab-certified SPF product, and we won't pretend otherwise. What it is: a mineral barrier built on non-nano zinc oxide (the same active ingredient in most mineral sunscreens), combined with beeswax, jojoba oil, and vitamin E. Zinc sits on top of the skin and physically reflects UV rather than absorbing it chemically. We use it as a daily skin shield for time outdoors, layered with common sense (shade, hats, timing). If you need a certified SPF rating for work or medical reasons, this isn't that. If you want clean, simple protection for everyday adventures, this is exactly that.
What does "reef-safe" mean?
It means we left out the chemical UV filters, like oxybenzone and octinoxate, that have been linked to coral harm and are banned in places like Hawaii. Our balm is built around non-nano zinc oxide instead. "Reef-safe" isn't a regulated term, so we just tell you what's in and what's out and let you decide.
How do I use it?
It's typically hard on purchase, so break it up with your thumb first. Then, warm it a little between your fingers and rub it in. It goes on as a thin layer. Zinc's physical barrier means a little goes a long way.
How long does it last?
Best within about a year of opening. Keep it out of a hot car. If it ever smells off, retire it.
Will it leave a white cast?
Yes, slightly, that's the zinc oxide. It settles in about a minute and most people don't notice it after.
Is it waterproof?
The beeswax base is water-resistant so it doesn't wash straight off, but, it's not 100% waterproof. Reapply after swimming.
Why only 4 ingredients?
We couldn't find a good reason to add more. Every ingredient does a specific job. Everything else is filler.
